Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on Malaysia to prioritise technological advancement and economic development over political divisions. Speaking at a PKR Grand Rally in Muar on June 15, Anwar emphasised that the government's main objective should be securing foreign investment in AI infrastructure and data centres, along with exploring quantum computing capabilities—areas he explored during his recent Japan visit.

Anwar stressed that these technological initiatives are essential for Malaysia's future competitiveness and prosperity. "For our children, their future lies in AI and quantum. So we must work toward that," he said, questioning the value of constant political infighting over cultural and religious matters when the nation has pressing development priorities.

The Prime Minister urged citizens across all communities to unite behind the nation-building agenda. "Rise up Malaysians - Malay, Chinese, Indian - work together, build this nation, elevate this country into a great nation," he declared, noting that Malaysia's growing reputation is already attracting international investors without requiring extensive promotional campaigns.

Anwar, who also heads the PKR party and Pakatan Harapan coalition, warned political leaders against exploiting divisive sentiments. He stressed that successful politics requires leaders to address citizens' genuine concerns rather than stoking hatred and suspicion. The remarks were made alongside PKR Vice-President Datuk Seri Dr. Zaliha Mustafa and Johor PH Chairman Aminolhuda Hassan at the rally.
