Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that the nation's economic advancement and development agenda must translate into tangible benefits across all sections of society, with particular focus on rural populations. Speaking at a Hi-Tea gathering with fishing communities, farmers and residents at Pantai Leka Food Court in Muar on June 15, Anwar underlined that growth initiatives should reach beyond major infrastructure and technological ventures to improve livelihoods at ground level.

While acknowledging the importance of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital transformation for long-term competitiveness, the Prime Minister reiterated that the MADANI Government prioritises the economic welfare and income stability of rural communities. He stressed the necessity for government structures and implementing agencies to effectively distribute social safety nets and targeted assistance programmes to those most in need.

Anwar called on Cabinet members and elected officials to strengthen grassroots engagement by regularly visiting communities to directly understand citizen concerns and address them promptly. He stated that true leadership demands the willingness to champion the interests of disadvantaged groups and guarantee that modernisation efforts do not exclude any demographic from opportunities.

"This development must be enjoyed by all and guarantee convenience to the people, especially those at the lower level. Who wants to represent? Who wants to voice the views of those below? That's why we have to go down to the ground," the Prime Minister remarked, emphasising the importance of personal accountability among public officials.
